What's your cancellation policy?

Cancellations can be made for fair reasons - life happens to all of us! However all of our time is valuable, both mine and yours and so if I have reserved time to travel to you, set up and perform an allocated service then that might be as much as half of my working day and income - or maybe more! And so for that reason, cancelled appointments within 48 hours' notice will incur a 50% fee. If you cancel earlier than that then you can be offered a rescheduled appointment.

What if either of us is late?

I do allow a certain amount of flexibility because of travel and offering an unhurried service and I hope that you will too. Sheep escape fields, phone signal becomes unavailable (this is Cornwall!) but hopefully you'll be there ready to go and we won't have to worry about this. Should timings become unreasonable, however we may have to renegotiate either the appointment date/ time, or the amount of work carried out. What won't happen, however is a speeding-up of the service - I still need to take due care and attention in the product I offer you! If any lateness is down to my failure of service then you may be offered either a discount on the appointment (or a future appointment) or a treatment upgrade.

How long do treatments last?

Your treatment will be around the stated time allowance on the price list, plus time needs to be allowed for me to set up and clear away at the end. I allow additional time in my schedule for the travel time to get to you.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

I ask new clients to pay 100% upfront by bank transfer prior to the appointment but this ensures your space is booked. Sadly some people make tentative bookings and don't honour them which means that I am then stuck for offering the slot to others and |I lose income.

What payment types do you accept

I prefer payment by bank transfer or in cash to avoid card processing fees, however I can take debit and credit cards too. You'll be asked to make the payment upon completion of the service before I leave your premises.

Do I need to supply anything?

Access to a power socket and tap, a table to work at (if we can sit opposite on a smaller table that's preferred but please let me know if I need to bring my table) and a chair for us both! For pedicures I have a reclinign zero gravity chair to bring your feet to the right height. If you have coffee and oat milk for morning appointments then that's a bonus (but I might bring my own!) . If you have an idea of what you want for your nails then please email it through to me in advance in case there are colours to be ordered (this may incur an additional charge, see below)

What about special requests?

There are some designs and colours that I can do with prior discussion and notice but if what you want is something that's not in my existing kit or colour range, and if it may only ever be requested for you (there is so much available that I have a curated selection of the most popular items) then I may need to ask you to contribute to additional costs in order to protect my margin. I ca also order cuticle oils, regular polishes or other products if there is something you would like to have to keep.

Do you do manicures for kids?

Mini manis and pamper parties are popular! If your under-16 would like to be treated please get in touch with me and I'll let you know if my current level of insurance covers treating your young person. Should a treatment be agreed then a parental consent form will need to be completed along with the consultation form. There are several considerations that need to be taken into account with young nails which are still growing and with allergy risk so I will ask you to consider these constraints when we speak.

Tell me about HEMA

HEMA is an ingredient within many gel polishes and it is used in the brand that I use, The Gel Bottle. Professional application of gel polish with the correct safety and hygiene procedure is super important in the safe application of gel polishes, which is why home kits are not recommended. You can find out more about TGB's compliance around product quality and allergies here https://www.thegelbottle.com/help-centre?help_q=300 (and don't forget I am fully trained and insured).

Do you do acrylics?

Although I have trained in acrylics it's not a system I wanted to invest in and I really struggle with the smell! If you're asking for acrylics because you want extensions and longer nails, or if you want really strong nails, I can offer you DesignEx Pro full cover extensions from the Gel Bottle. These are applied to the whole nail and attached using builder gel. This is a great speedy system that doesn't use nail glue but it can create strength, shape and glamorous extensions - better still, as it uses BIAB, it's soak off, not file off! Please get in touch if you would like to find out more bout converting to these from acrylics.
